GCPIT (UK) and the Global Council for the Promotion of International Trade aim to transform the future of business and industry through sustainable business best practices. The primary goal is to promote a nationwide organization that harnesses the diverse capabilities and strengths of the countries to the creation of new industries resting on sustainability.

The Council will promote sustainable business models and best practices to the nationwide creation of new industries over the medium to long term. Personnel from industry, academia, and the government will work together to go back to the basics of sustainability and to investigate and make recommendations on the application of the technology, solutions, best use-cases, and the required industrial structure, systems and rules. Through these activities, the Council will promote sustainable development, with the aim of channeling advances in sustainable development goals into promoting industry and reinforcing its international competitiveness.

Global Founders’ Council for Sustainable Development is inviting the participation of companies and experts who endorse these aims and initiatives.

Sustainable development is a guiding principle for achieving human development goals while preserving natural systems’ capacity to provide the natural resources and ecosystem services that the economy and society rely on.

While micro, small, and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs) may appear small in comparison to large corporations, they have a significant impact on employment, economic growth, and sustainability. In general, SMEs outnumber large corporations while contributing significantly to global economic growth and job creation, particularly in developing countries.

According to World Bank data, SMEs account for approximately 90% of businesses and 50% of global Gross Domestic Product. Additional calculations by the World Bank indicate that SMEs have the potential to generate the 600 million jobs required to absorb the global workforce by 2030.

This is the first time a global mapping of startups has been planned to focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, known as the SDGs. Because these startups have the potential to have a good social and environmental impact as well as financial gains, they are referred to as “SDGs: Global Impact Startups.”

This competition poses the following objectives:

Seek out the most innovative solutions to accelerate the Sustainable Development Goals achievement regarding viability, scalability and impact. Gather and connect all actors of the global innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem; Member States and public organizations; startups; academia; corporations; incubators and accelerators; and investors and venture builders. Provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge, business models, successful business cases and general support among startups to foster disruption in their own strategy and in the economy as a whole.

Global Women in Trade Summit 2021 is one of our initiatives that intend to focus on the space for a better future of trade for womenpreneurs.

Participants will exchange information about what has worked — and what has not — in their attempts to encourage women’s participation in the economy. They will also seek to ensure that Aid for Trade pays better attention to its focus and impact on women.​ Along with this summit, experts will publish a series of articles/ blogs on these and other issues, to be compiled and published on SME Glocal Business March 2021 Edition.

The goal of GIIE SUMMIT 2021 is to create a space dedicated to the leaders of collaboration from all sectors from all over the world, to share, discuss, learn and together build a more inclusive innovation-driven economy.

The event is dedicated to bring new trends in the areas of innovation, incubation and entrepreneurship to the global co-creation movement and thus prepare the co-innovation sector for the new challenges that we are already facing and will continue facing in the coming years.

Women are more likely to be promoted to company boardrooms in countries where they hold greater economic and political power, according to research that highlighted the limited ability of quotas to give women more sway in business.

Women’s economic power, as measured by years of schooling and percentage of women in the labor market, is the most important factor in ensuring greater gender equality in the boardroom, according to a survey of 1,002 companies in 41 countries.

Female political power, as measured by the number of MPs, as well as rights to maternity and paternity leave, also strongly corresponded to opportunities in the boardroom, the survey, believed to be the biggest of its kind, found.

The report found that boardroom quotas – as adopted in countries from Norway to Israel and India – played a limited role. While they helped get women into boardrooms, they did not translate into long tenures, raising the issue of a potential “revolving door”.
