Imade Bibowei-Osuobeni

Imade Bibowei-Osuobeni is a public policy advisor, inclusive digital economy advocate and the founder of Tech Herfrica, a nonprofit championing digital inclusion for women and girls in rural African communities. Tech Herfrica’s mission is to advance the growth of female-led businesses in rural Africa leveraging technology. Tech Herfrica provides digital access to female farmers and traders in rural areas in Africa to connect with buyers so that they are able to sell more of their products at fair prices, reduce food wastage, rise above poverty and be included in the larger society.  In addition to creating an e-commerce solution, herlocalmarket, that connects rural sellers to buyers for unadulterated food items, Tech Herfrica provides access to local technology for farmers and traders to increase production, conducts digital financial literacy programmes in indigenous languages for the women so that they are able to adopt new technologies and access financial services, as well as facilitates access to mobile phones, health insurance and micro pension plans so that women can live financially stable and healthy lives. Pending the launch its e-commerce platform, Herlocalmarket.com, trades are currently being facilitated using WhatsApp.

Imade has over 15 years of experience in public policy development, investment analysis, business strategy formulation and implementation as well as project management, risk management and organizational change management.
