As a global development expert, non profit coach and proposal writer, I accelerated impact in global development through management of large and complex programs in Health (Disease focused, HSS and UHC), Humanitarian, Education, Governance and Media sectors, strengthened over 1000 NGOs and CBOs and trained over 1500 NGO leaders. Raised and managed over $1billion in grants. Advised governments of low and middle-income countries, private sector organizations, INGOs and NGOs on policies, reforms; designed, implemented and evaluated programs including development of tools, curriculum and manuals and capacity building.

I bring a rich blend of technical expertise in program management, institutional capacity strengthening, appraisals ( social, gender, poverty and livelihoods analysis), public sector management, monitoring and evaluation and research, documentation and reporting, policy analysis, advocacy, and influencing, strategic planning and institutiobnalization, political economy and facilitation, external engagement and strategic positioning with accountabilities; project proposals, opportunity analysis, training manuals, performance review, quality assurance, use of participatory approaches and rights based approaches;

Currently, support series of donor organizations to scale impact. I coach and strengthen a large pull of nonprofit organizations’ to be effective in managing non-profit businesses, engaging with communities, programming and accessing funding opportunities. I passionately increase capacity of nonprofits to create impact, attract, access and manage funding for social impacts and create alternative innovative funding sources.

Passionate about leadership and influence, I organize career leadership individual and group based coaching and mentorship sessions to accelerate growth, skills development for getting ahead in business and development spaces.

Worked and consulted for FHI360, GAVI, HSCL, Plan International, Oxford Policy Management, World Health Organization; PACT West Africa, UNICEF, Save the children International, International Rescue Committee, DAI- PERL, TA Connect, Tony Elumelu Foundation; ActionAid International Nigeria. Extensive experience with USAID, FCDO, GAC, EU, Global fund, ECHO, UN, and BMGF. Worked in Nigeria, Malawi, and Ethiopia and extensively support across Africa

Akaoma is an alumnus of Harvard University School of Public Health Boston USA; University of Liverpool; University of Lagos Nigeria and Nnamdi Azikiwe University Nigeria. Akaoma is a member of the John Maxwell Leadership team.
