Dennis Okore
Dennis Okore is a communications and policy practitioner with over 15 years of experience and expertise in government relations, public affairs, and ESG communications and sustainability mustered from stints in the media, legal, health, humanitarian, and extractive sectors. During these stints, he has acquired board-level experience in designing and implementing results-bearing communications strategies, multi-stakeholder engagements, branding and reputation, innovation, and entrepreneurship. He has led social performance teams to manage above-ground risks in identifying, developing, and prioritizing strategies that have ensured sustained social license to operate (SLTO) and sustainability of social investment projects, Local Content, Environment, Health & Safety, Land Access, and Grievance Mechanisms. He believes that it is crucial for Africa to reclaim the sustainability agenda and narrative, act to protect the environment, and add relevant global innovation to the indigenous knowledge base.
Dennis holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Media Technology from Maseno University, Kenya, and is a Graduate Student of Public Policy and Management at the Strathmore Business School, Kenya. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Policy and Management at the Strathmore Business School and has an interest in current affairs (local and international), law, humanitarian assistance, public policy, disruptive technologies, governance and ethics, agribusiness, new media and development, and communications technology. Dennis is a member of the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK), a member of the Rotary Club, the International Relations Society of Kenya, and the Photographers Association of Kenya. He is an adviser to the Board for Economic Projects Transformational Facility (EPTF), a business mentor with Enpact, and an innovation mentor for Techstars.
