Beatriz Guillén
Beatriz Guillén is a regional Social Innovation Specialist at CAF – the Development Bank of Latin America. She is co-founder of CAF’s Social Innovation Department, an area that has become a key complement to CAF’s lending operations, as well as a source for new businesses. Beatriz has led social innovation projects helping global corporations in four continents, applying cross-country solutions to tackle complex development challenges. Prior to joining CAF, Beatriz served as an Associate at Enterprise Solutions to Poverty led by Nancy Barry, based in New York. During that time, she worked in projects in Kenya, India and China, creating innovative partnerships with agribusinesses and financial institutions to include smallholder farmers in profitable and sustainable value chains. She has worked with clients including BBVA Foundation, TechnoServe, Jain Irrigation, China Mobile, KfW, World Bank and IFC.
Beatriz has expertise in bringing stakeholders together to develop innovation in enterprise and value chain development, and new initiatives with high impact. She has experience managing teams delivering complex social innovation projects. Beatriz has a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University, a BA in Humanities from Pompeu Fabra University and a BA in Journalism from Abat Oliba University.
Beatriz has led social development projects and managed teams across the Global-South, applying cross-country solutions to tackle complex development challenges, bringing stakeholders together to develop innovative solutions such as small business growth, women empowerment, financial inclusion, upskilling programs, and food security.
