Aparna G Kumar
Aparna G Kumar is the Founder Director of India’s first Exclusive Showroom for the Elderly. She founded Homecare-The Eldercare Speciality Shop in 2012, when she found a huge gap in the market for eldercare products while taking care of her aged mother. Homecare mainly focuses on Bathroom Modification for fall prevention for the elderly. In order to know more about the problems elderly people face and their solutions, she did a certificate course from the US on Home Modification for the Elderly. She now does personalized consulting for the elderly and people with mobility challenges.
A great team player, she has taken up various leadership positions in many organisations. She has been a leading voice for Gender Equality since 2016, when she became the National Coordinator of JCI India for Gender Equality. She represented JCI India at the JCI UN Partnership Summit in 2016 and had the opportunity to work very closely with UN Women. She was able to see and understand the problems faced by women in different parts of the world, which made her shift her vision to women empowerment and leadership.
A motivational speaker, TV host, stage anchor, and trainer, she always believes in dreaming big. She dreams of creating ambition in children and youth of India.
A passionate Rotarian who believes in the ideal of Service above Self, she has been playing a lead role in all the community service activities of her club and also in District 3202. She is at present serving as the State Chair for Kerala for Rotary Mission to Public Vision.
She is also an active member of many organisations like Calicut Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Calicut Management Association, Lions Club of Calicut Nanma to name a few.
Recognised as one of the women legends of Calicut during Calicut Shethon 2019, she has won various awards including Business Excellence Recognition from JCI and Red Shakthi Award for Excellence by Red FM.
At present, she is serving as the Global Chairperson for Women Entrepreneurship and Empowerment, Global Council for the Promotion of International Trade & Confederation of Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises
