“Our biggest challenge in this new century is to take an idea that seems abstract – sustainable development – and turn it into a reality for all the world’s people.”
— Kofi Annan
The Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint for achieving a better and sustainable future for all. According to the United Nations, these goals address the global challenges we face, including poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, and justice.
But how many of us are really aware of what these goals are?
And how many of us think of sustainability when we really do something?
It’s time we realize that sustainability is not just a goal but it is a way of life.
Sustainability has to be integrated into whatever we do every day.
We are running out of time, and we don’t have a planet B to go to.
As Greta Thunberg Swedish activist said while addressing the World Economic Forum in 2019 at Davos, Let us act as we would in a crisis. Let us “act as if our house is on fire. Because it is.”
The Global Alliances Digital Magazine is another humble effort from Global Council for the Promotion of International Trade, to work towards sustainability and take it forward beyond 2030.
Let us be sustainable in everything we do.
