GCPIT and Joystar Business Training And Consultancy Services sign MoU

Global Council for the Promotion of International Trade (GCPIT) and Joystar Business Training and Consultancy Services signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) virtually on 7th January 2020 in the presence of Santosh G, Global Chairperson and Aparna G Kumar, Global Co-chairperson of GCPIT, Ochieng Joash, Director, Joystar Business Training and Consultancy Services.

The objective of this MoU is to explore areas of mutual collaboration and cooperation between GCPIT and Joystar for advancing the entrepreneurial eco-system in Kenya through digital transformation, trade competencies and skills enhancement of micro, small and medium enterprises.

The cooperation under the terms of this Agreement shall cover the following key areas inter-alia other areas to be subsequently added by mutual consultations:

  • Entrepreneurship Development, Innovation and Incubation and Acceleration for Startups/ MSMEs
  • Training and Development, Digital Transformation
  • Trade and Investment
  • Industry
  • Tourism
  • Agriculture and Energy
  • Education and Research
  • Infrastructure
  • Healthcare
  • Industry Cluster
  • Technology Transfer, Innovation, Collaboration and Research
  • Information Technology
  • Migration and Immigration
  • Logistics and Supply Chain

Aparna G, Global Co-Chairperson GCPIT said that “this initiative will bring out sustainable collaboration between GCPIT and Joystar and it will benefit both the entities.”

Santosh G, Global Chairperson said that “the core foundation and one of the major objective of the GCPIT is to make a significant role in bringing business and trade excellence across the Nation and move towards the holistic development of all its micro, small and medium enterprises.”

Ochieng Joash Director said Joystar Business Training and Consultancy Services said that “Promoting Entrepreneurship through collaboration and partnership is important for a number of reasons, from promoting social change to driving innovation. Entrepreneurs are frequently thought of as national assets to be cultivated, motivated, and remunerated to the greatest possible extent. In fact, some of the most developed nations such as the United States are world leaders due to their forward-thinking innovation, research, and entrepreneurial individuals.

This program will produce Great entrepreneurs who have the ability to change the way we live and work, on local and national bases. If successful, their innovations may improve standards of living, and in addition to creating wealth with entrepreneurial ventures, they also create jobs and contribute to a growing economy. The importance of the entrepreneurship ecosystem is not to be understated. This program will be an eye-opener to new startups and existing MSSMEs in both countries through knowledge sharing among other benefits.

Global Council for the Promotion of International Trade is an organisation based out of India, South Africa, United Kingdom and the United States with board & council member representation across the world :

  • To implement relevant major national development strategies, and promote foreign trade, bilateral investment and economic & technological cooperation; carry forward cooperation with overseas trade promotion counterparts; receive overseas high-end trade and economic delegations.
  • To organize Global trade and economy delegations to visit foreign countries; manage overseas trade exhibitions organized by GCPIT, participate in affairs of World Expo on behalf of the GCPIT; organize for companies to attend trade and economic exhibitions, forums, fairs and other international conferences; represent domestic industry and commerce in the field of foreign trade, and participate in the formulation of trade and economic policies and rules, foreign trade negotiation and making of international commercial rules; carry out legal consulting, commercial conciliation, trade and maritime arbitration; sign and issue certificates of origin for export products and among others
