Marlou Leenders
I’ve worked in the field of sustainability for more than 10 years and I am now Global Head of Sustainability at Randstad and member of Randstad’s Global Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Council. I’ve taken the lead in the development of Randstad’s sustainability agenda, which has left a big mark on the organisation. Not only have I led the development of Randstad’s sustainability strategy, but I’m also a driving force behind Randstad’s ultimate goal: “to touch the work lives of 500 million people worldwide by 2030”.
In order to coordinate Randstad’s work on sustainability worldwide, I successfully established an active Randstad sustainability community, consisting of all sustainability managers worldwide. Within this group, I coordinate and assess local sustainability strategies and initiatives. In addition, I am the founder of an external working group on diversity & inclusion.
I’ve also been instrumental in the integrated non-financial reporting systems of Randstad and I manage the annual application of Randstad to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, ensuring that Randstad delivers the best sustainability performance in the HR sector year after year.
Our sustainability strategy is connected with the SDGs. Randstad aims to contribute to a sustainable future, both socially and economically, through facilitating the development of fair and efficient labor markets across the world. We have therefore committed ourselves to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Governments have adopted the United Nations’17 SDGs to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all by 2030. As a global HR services provider, Randstad specifically contributes to four goals: decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), reduced inequalities (SDG 10), gender equality (SDG 5), and quality education (SDG 4).
