Global Women in Business and Leadership Awards 2025

In today’s dynamic and ever-evolving marketplace, business success is driven by diversity, inclusion, and innovation. The most forward-thinking enterprises recognize that diverse perspectives and experiences fuel creativity, strengthen decision-making, and enhance resilience in the face of disruption. Beyond being a moral imperative, diversity and inclusion at the leadership level provide a strategic advantage, empowering organizations to navigate challenges with agility and vision.

At Global Council for the Promotion of International Trade (GCPIT) & Confederation of Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (CIMSME), we are committed to fostering a workplace culture that is not only diverse but also deeply inclusive, where women leaders are empowered to excel. To address the persistent challenges women face in leadership, businesses must take deliberate steps to eliminate barriers, champion inclusivity, and create pathways for high-potential women to rise to the top.

Women in Business and Leadership Study: A Transformative Initiative

With this vision in mind, we have commissioned the Women in Business and Leadership Study, an extensive survey engaging over 5,000 professionals and entrepreneurs. This study aims to explore the critical attributes, experiences, and challenges that shape women’s leadership journeys. Our objective is to equip global leaders with actionable insights that drive meaningful change—ensuring that women not only participate but also thrive and lead in the business world.

We firmly believe that the outcome of this study will inspire organizations to implement concrete strategies to nurture, develop, and retain their women leaders. When businesses invest in female leadership, they unlock new opportunities, drive innovation, and strengthen their competitive edge—benefiting organizations, economies, and societies as a whole.

FAQ

ADR refers to a range of methods for resolving disputes outside of traditional litigation. These methods, such as mediation, arbitration, negotiation, conciliation, and expert evaluation, offer more efficient, cost-effective, and amicable solutions to conflicts compared to lengthy court battles. ADR aims to empower parties to actively participate in resolving their disputes while potentially preserving relationships and fostering more constructive outcomes.

Mediation: A neutral third party assists the disputing parties in reaching a mutually agreeable solution.
Arbitration: A neutral third party (arbitrator) hears evidence and arguments from both sides and renders a binding decision.
Negotiation: Parties directly engage with each other to find a mutually acceptable resolution.
Conciliation: Similar to mediation, but the third party may offer suggestions and recommendations.
Expert Evaluation: An expert provides an independent opinion on the merits of the dispute.

ADR offers numerous benefits, including cost-effectiveness compared to litigation, increased speed and efficiency in resolving disputes, confidentiality and privacy for the parties involved, flexibility in tailoring solutions to the specific needs and circumstances of the dispute, and the potential to preserve relationships between the parties, which can be particularly valuable in ongoing business or personal relationships.

ADR is appropriate for a wide range of disputes, including commercial disputes such as contract disagreements and business partnerships, family disputes like divorce and child custody matters, employment disputes involving discrimination or wrongful termination, neighbor disputes, and environmental disputes.

The most appropriate ADR method depends on several factors, including the nature and complexity of the dispute, the relationship between the parties, the desired outcome of the dispute, the urgency of the matter, and the availability and expertise of ADR professionals. Careful consideration of these factors will help determine the most suitable approach for a particular situation.

Attorneys play a crucial role in ADR proceedings. They advise clients on the best ADR options, represent clients in ADR sessions, negotiate on their behalf, draft and review ADR agreements, and ensure that their clients' rights and interests are protected throughout the process.

The costs associated with ADR vary depending on the specific method chosen. Mediation typically involves fees for the mediator. Arbitration involves fees for the arbitrator and may include administrative costs. Negotiation may involve attorney fees for legal representation.

You can find qualified ADR professionals through various avenues. Many professional organizations maintain directories of mediators, arbitrators, and other ADR professionals. Online platforms and directories can also be helpful resources. Additionally, you can seek referrals from attorneys, colleagues, or other professionals who have experience with ADR.

While ADR offers a high success rate, it is not guaranteed to resolve all disputes. However, it provides a valuable opportunity for parties to explore alternative solutions, communicate effectively, and potentially reach an amicable resolution.

The future of ADR is marked by several key trends, including the increased use of technology with the rise of online dispute resolution (ODR) platforms and AI-powered tools, a growing emphasis on early intervention and the utilization of ADR at the earliest stages of a dispute to prevent escalation, and the ongoing integration of ADR with other legal processes, fostering a more holistic approach to dispute resolution.
