    Urvashi has extensive experience in health, nutrition, sanitation, gender and public policy. She is currently a Director and part of the senior management team at the Development Monitoring & Evaluation Office, NITI Aayog. Over the last five years, she worked as a Public Policy Specialist in the Office of the Vice Chairman at NITI Aayog, the premier policy think tank of the Indian Government. Urvashi has been a part of the core team supporting the work of the Government of India’s Empowered Group 1 for managing the Covid-19 Pandemic in the country. She is a member of the task force for overseeing the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals in India and co-authored India’s first Voluntary National Review presented at the United Nation’s High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in 2017. Urvashi has over 100 publications in leading national and international newspapers, journals and digital platforms. She is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Expert Network and an alumnus of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community. She completed BSc in Life Sciences (Genetics) from the University of Birmingham, UK, followed by an MPhil in Bioscience Enterprise from the University of Cambridge and an MSc in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.

    1) Aspirational Districts Programme internationally recognized for its 3Cs model convergence, collaboration and competition to drive the transformation of 112 of India’s poorest districts. Corporate social responsibility initiatives and partnerships with civil society play a key role in this development process.

    2) Ayushman Bharat and National Digital Health Mission – the private sector is a crucial partner in expanding access to healthcare across the country including in Tier 2 and 3 cities as well as rural areas. Various digital initiatives are also being implemented through partnerships between the government and private sector e.g. Swasth telemedicine application providing remote consultations to patients during and in the post-Covid era.
