In her current work as Director – EDC, TSWRDCW at Budhera, Sangareddy she is working with the 1st, 2nd and 3yr degree students on their entrepreneurial ideas. Working with students largely from marginalized communities from 30 social welfare residential degree colleges across Telangana districts she is partnering with the government, NGOs, likeminded individuals and organizations to set up business enterprises by young women while they are in college.
All her education, skills, work experience, corporate network, her passion to work with women to make them financially independent is now culminating in her current activities.
Her academic qualifications include MSW (Masters in Social Work, 1988), Bachelor degree in Law (1992), has been associated with the NHRD Hyderabad chapter as a Life member; and as Secretary in 2000. She is selected as National President by the Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE) for 2016-17, an NGO working on Women Empowerment. She is an Executive Committee member on Hyderabad Management Association at present.
She is a fellow of the Institute of Director (international body on Corporate Governance) and nominated by the Government of India as the first Woman Independent Director on the Board of National Small Industries Corporation Limited, a Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of MSME.
Geeta is one of the few professionals who worked since the year 2000 on Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace under the Vishaka Guidelines directed by the Supreme Court much before the Act was passed in 2013. She is nominated as Joint Secretary on the Women Forum of Hyderabad City Security Council, a Society constituted under the aegis of Commissionarate of Hyderabad Police, supporting community-level women on addressing domestic violence and child abuse.
She has taken topics of contention with grit and ease to promote harmony at the workplace. She was at various public events and in electronic media.
